Loved how these looked in the sunlight this evening

I'm working on another weaving. I want to have at least two more done before the Art Tour.

Lately I can't get enough of working on my knitted rug. There are pictures up over at flickr and at ravelry. I'm going to have to work on xmas presents again soon...

Yarn started on every bobbin, wool in the combs, wool in the carder, weaving on the loom... Must finish projects!

Wanna ride?

I have a riding class on the 5th & 6th... we'll see what I can do!

Pablo's making potato salad... the scents of pickles and onions come from the kitchen. There's steam rising in the sink from the potatoes in the strainer. Dad and Daniel are coming to visit in an hour or two.

It's a good birthday... quiet and happy.

My current fave!

I received my first glass working tool in the mail Friday. It's a graphite rod that I can use to manipulate the glass, flatten it out, etc. next I need a pair of large tweezers......

SLVFest booth at the Monte Street Fair

It was a beautiful day, and though I was tired, it was good. We sold some t-shirts, gave out lots of info, and showed off the beautiful Tina Jensen II spinning wheel that we're raffling off.

Art yarn with Swarovski

I'm so happy with how this yarn turned out. The single was on the bobbin for at least a couple months. I finished it up and plied it with a cotton thread and these gorgeous swarovski crystals. Now it's sitting in my living room for me to look at... I really should list things more often, but instead, I'm always hording them and enjoying them for myself.

Milo Bloom said,"The first sign of a nervous breakdown is when you start thinking your work is terribly important."

Oh, but I do... and then sometimes I just run off to the hot springs or some other equally wonderful quiet hiding space.

For now I'm working on preparing my warp for weaving, and a very simple mosaic of pottery up my living room stairs.

Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.

Throw Your Dreams

It's a new year... time for a post in the little neglected blog. 2008 has such potential...we're each embarking on a journey that is so big and so filled with energy. My heart is happy and calm today. For the moment, I'm curled up in bed with my big dog at my feet. I'm deciding just how to map out today. It's the last day of vacation, and I have three hours left of me time. So far I've let the dog out and stoked the fire...and made coffee. I think I'll start a pot of dye. I've gotten some gorgeous colors over the last few days. Laura turned me on to Cushings Dyes. They are fantastic! I also need to pull a handle for a pot that's been waiting for me...which means clothes and boots and jacket...it's COOOOOOOLD out there. Start a load of laundry... maybe I'll make something warm and rich in the slow cooker for tonights dinner.

All this to say that I'm looking forward to stepping into today and this year.
Happy New Year!
